What’s Onwith Ken Lindsay

Visual Impaired Ayrshire (VIA) - Peter Fraser talks to Secretary Bob Shields and Chairperson Janet Pryde, about this active self help group for the visually impaired. This month they launch a self help CD and tape to assist newly diagnosed visually impaired people.

SITE (Supported Integration Training & Employment) - John Turley gives information about this new service being provided from the Centre for Sensory Impaired at 17 Gullane Street, Glasgow.

Right to Read - Derek Young visited the recent update meeting on the RNIB Right to Read campaign in the City Chambers in Glasgow. He spoke to Director of RNIB Scotland John Legge and some of the people attending.

Tribute to Alex Duguid -
David leads a tribute to Alex Duguid who died in December. Alex was involved in many organisations and a great friend to Playback. We also repeat part of a programme he recorded with Hugh Gray about his cruise on the Canberra.

Ultra Cane - This is a publicity recording sent to us by the company who supply this high tech electronic guide cane which we have talked about on the magazine before.

The McInnes Family - Margaret recently went along to the home of Angela McInnes and spoke to Angela and her daughters Kirsty and Pamela. Pamela is a pupil at the Royal Blind School and Kirsty is at mainstream school Lenzie Academy. Margaret wanted to find out why it was decided to send them to different schools, and the differences between the two education systems.

End of Year Quiz - Like all popular publications we have an end of year quiz. The prizes will be a small Playback 30th Anniversary personal radio. Have a go and record your answers at the start of the tape or send them in print or by e-mail to peter.fraser@play-back.org.uk. There are 10 questions asking ‘where are we?’, just make a list or give us an idea who we are talking to.
