70 years of Rex Blind Parties - December was the 70th anniversary of the Rex football commentaries. In 1987 Playback produced a commemorative tape covering the first 50 years. This is part of that tape. It’s introduced by Hugh Gray. Copies of the full programme are available from Playback Library.

Lord Kelvin - December was also the 100th Anniversary of the death of Lord Kelvin. He was responsible for a number of developments including the way we measure temperature. Back in 1986 Alan Sturmey found out more about this famous Scot. It’s introduced by Iris Brown.
